  1. A Monday musing on this:

Talking to Belinda B the other day – she was keen to find new online ways of helping VU students with their English language and literacy difficulties.

I was musing about some kind of intelligent online system that can respond to and record questions and answers, tag content according to subject matter (inc. course, level etc), and use this to build a kind of contextual lexicon from user input – ideally with speech recognition and playback plus fuzzy/contextual search. Something where every query and input helps to build resources for the next person.

And where there is ready help available online, perhaps from mentors or student teachers who are paid and/or whose work is counted as LiWC?

back in my LookSmart days there used to be a service called LookSmart Live (like Google Answers and similar services) where you’d answer web user questions. Was questionable for a number of reasons, but if somehow this principle could be constructed in-house where all activity is sustainable and builds something useful to all in a kind of virtuous loop?
